In Connecticut there aren’t any state regulations in place that require a server or bartender to be licensed in order to sell alcohol.
It is important to keep in mind though that some bar owners will require bartenders and servers to complete such courses regardless of state or city laws. This is because if a bar or restaurant runs into any legal issues, the state may take into account whether or not it’s employees had proper training when considering penalties for the business.
If your employer requires training, or you just want to have a leg-up on the competition when applying for a job, we highly consider the certification provided by Serving Alcohol.
